BAM! Sharp knife!

How to protect edge

Get rid of hard cutting boards.
Knifes mostly get dull from cutting boards. Boards made of glass, granite, hard plastics and hardwood are the worst. The best boards are Silicone (cheaper) and End Grain wood (expensive). They are easy on edges. Everything else is in the middle.

No loose knives in a drawer or sink with other stuff.
Each touch with metal objects or plates will cause little dents. Very edge has little teeth that will be bent or dented.

Do not swipe stuff off from cutting board using knife's edge.
Use other side of the blade called "spine". When you swipe with edge, then edge little teeth will bend easily. Bended edge will not bite anymore.
